You are here.

It may seem odd to start a blog without some kind of clear summary of intent but that would take more time than I have today. I simply observed this morning on how I enjoy looking at maps; everywhere I go and see some kind of map I feel the urge to stop and look for a few moments to make sense of it. This has unfortunately invited some people in the past to stop and helpfully enquire where I needed to go, to which my only response could be "Nowhere in particular, I just like looking at maps." Funny look ensues from helpful person.
I guess I just find great comfort in making sense of my surroundings, finding the boundaries and my place in it all. I like to see the "you are here" arrow somewhere and understand my place in the universe. I like to look at all the different and interesting places I could go and spend my time if I so wished.
This brings me one aspect of my apeirophobia; that there is no map to the infinite, no boundaries, no "you are here" arrow; and the landscape is unendingly barren and monotonous in its homogeneity. How do you make sense of your place in that?
